Advancing Organic: CCOF Foundation 2025 Impact Report

As Organic Month approaches this September, we are reflecting on the growing impact of our work advancing organic. In 2025, the CCOF Foundation granted over $5 million to organic farmers and organizations supporting the transition to organic, including direct relief to farmers experiencing hardship, funding for farmers transitioning to organic, and scholarships for future organic farmers. Through these efforts and 1:1 technical assistance to producers, we are protecting the land, safeguarding our communities, and fostering a healthier world.

He aquí cómo su apoyo a la Fundación CCOF genera un cambio duradero:

Cultivar la próxima generación – In 2025, the Future Organic Farmers program awarded $125,000 in scholarships to students and beginning farmers stepping into organic agriculture, building a strong future for family farms and clean, natural food production.

Apoyo a los agricultores en tiempos de necesidad – The CCOF Foundation’s Hardship Assistance Fund stands as the only national program providing direct financial relief exclusively to certified organic farmers facing extreme weather events. In 2025, the Foundation granted $1,110,000 to farmers in crisis, helping organic operations rebuild and continue serving their communities.

Aprender, crecer y prosperar juntos – In 2025, the CCOF Foundation provided 390+ hours of personalized technical assistance to producers in their preferred language of English or Spanish.

Romper las barreras de la transición orgánica – In 2025, the CCOF Foundation awarded $550,000 to farmers transitioning to organic and $3.3 million to organizations supporting organic transition efforts. As the lead for the Western & Southwestern region of the USDA’s Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP), the CCOF Foundation worked with 67 mentors and 152 mentees, helping transition or maintain 121,614 acres as organic and resulting in 54 newly certified organic operations.

“We received some great feedback from mentees who have gone through the program on how helpful it has been, and how mentoring allowed for the certification process to be seamless. It is vital that once a farm has reached certification, there is a support network in place to maintain certification year over year.”
