Nitricity Supports CCOF Foundation

Certified organic farmers carefully choose what they put in their soil to keep it healthy and grow nutritious crops. While compost is widely used, food safety rules sometimes mean they need other options to keep helpful microbes in the soil and maintain its fertility. As more people become interested in clean, natural farming, many are asking farmers about what fertilizers they use.

Nitricity, a climate-tech company focused on renewable energy and natural agriculture, is proud to support organic farmers and is the newest Champion-level supporter of the CCOF Foundation.

Co-Founder & CTO Joshua McEnaney shares:
“Nitricity is proud to support the CCOF Foundation and their dedication to hardworking growers. We share their commitment to organic farming for the benefit of our communities and climate.”

Nitricity produces an organic nitrogen fertilizer using local ingredients and renewable energy, with a mission to transform farming practices that protect our natural resources. Founded by three Stanford scientists, this innovative company has earned recognition from the TomKat Center for Sustainability and partnered with Fresno State University for field trials. As a company that supports natural practices, Nitricity minimizes waste by incorporating almond shells—a commonly discarded agricultural byproduct—into its production process, reducing biomass waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.

Approved by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), Nitricity provides organic growers with a natural fertilizer that seamlessly integrates with existing irrigation systems. Recent field trials showed a significant increase in yield after farmers applied Nitricity’s fertilizer, demonstrating its effectiveness in boosting crop productivity. Advancing organic by supporting people and communities who care for the land, the CCOF Foundation unites the organic community through intentional education, financial support, and growth opportunities for organic professionals. Get involved with the CCOF Foundation here.
