Prima Wawona has continued its investment in organic with its support of the CCOF Foundation as a Champion-level supporter in 2022.

Prima Wawona, one of the nation’s leading organic stone fruit producers, has supported our 501(c)(3) charitable arm, the CCOF Foundation, in advancing organic through education and grantmaking. Headquartered in California’s Central Valley, Prima Wawona recognized organic tree fruit as an underrepresented item in retail and sought to meet the industry’s demand. Each season, Prima Wawona increased its organic supply to match the growing consumer demand. When it comes to organic, “the future looks very bright!” says CEO Eric Beringause.

Over the last nearly five decades, CCOF has become known as a leader in organic certification and advocacy, but its Foundation only gained momentum as recently as 2014 with its flagship Future Organic Farmer program. Since then, countless leaders in organic have united to support the CCOF Foundation’s efforts to educate new and transitioning organic producers and provide necessary grants and training opportunities to farmers in need.

Under the leadership of a new marketing director, Prima Wawona will continue providing exceptional organic tree fruit to its domestic and international clients and upholding its commitment to sustainable growing practices and investment in local communities.
