CCOF Foundation Chief Program Officer Jessy Beckett Parr recently took the stage at the Spring 2025 National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meeting to share information about the impact of USDA’s Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP), a nationwide initiative supporting transitioning and existing organic producers. Joined by four farmers, the presentation covered TOPP’s success in providing comprehensive support to American farmers transitioning to organic production methods.
The demand for organic food continues to rise in America, but our domestic production hasn’t kept pace. In fact, the U.S. spends an estimated $8.9 billion on organic imports annually—products that could be grown right here at home by American farmers. TOPP is bridging this gap. The program helped certify more than 3,800 new organic operations covering 260,000+ acres in 2024 alone.
TOPP recently released an Impact Report showing that these strategic investments in organic professionals are yielding impressive results. Read more in the full report and listen to the video presentation above to find out more details.
