The CCOF Foundation recently received a check for $80,000 to support our Organic Transition Program from an anonymous donor. This fiscal support comes at a critical time to invest in the future of soil health and small businesses in California, enabling us to provide wraparound services to farmers transitioning acreage to organic.
The CCOF Foundation’s Organic Transitions Program (OTP) is a 3-year commitment to transitioning farmers, providing access to multi-year financial ($10,000 grants each year for three years) and technical support, farmer mentors, and supply chain awareness throughout the transition to organic. Beginning in 2022 with just 12 farmers, this program now serves 62 farmers in 2025, bringing our granting total to $620,000 to support farmers in the transition period. Throughout 2025, we plan to onboard an additional 25 farmers to this transition program.

*As of January 2025, the USDA’s Cost Share Program has been defunded. This will put smaller producers under increased financial strain. Consider making a donation to the CCOF Foundation to support any farmers needing hardship assistance at www.ccof.org/donate.
