Jack Balistreri


Jack Balistreri enjoys the laid-back farm life with his girls and delights in the no-pressure environment where the daily commute is from house to barn. Jack’s been on his farm for 36 years in Freestone, California where he’s tended to sheep, dairy cows, corn and his current 10 acres of pinot, 800 laying hens and 500 chicks that he checks on every three hours to make sure the water, feed and temperature are all perfect so that his flock will be healthy and happy. After spending two and a half decades running sales businesses, he now spends seven days a week taking care of his crops and nurturing his beloved animals, including a brother and sister Great Pyrenees that follow at his heels morning and night. Jack’s wife, Kathy, grew up on a dairy and have three children together Andrea, Mario and his oldest son, Giovanni, who studied agriculture and business and now owns a winery and restaurant. We have to appreciate a family that cares about the food (and wine) we put on the table.
