CCOF is offering an 8-hour, virtual-led course to provide growers of plants with key insights and understanding of the GLOBALG.A.P. requirements for the Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) Plants Version 6 SMART and GFS for Fruit and Vegetables. The GLOBALG.A.P IFA Standard is the GLOBALG.A.P. flagship certification standard and satisfies major US retailer 3rd party certification requirements for food safety, conservation, IPM, pollinator protection, and also includes strong components of worker health and welfare. Join CCOF to learn about the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standard as well as various free resources available to producers to help strengthen their GLOBALG.A.P. programs and help facilitate compliance.

Intended Audiences: Producers, Operations Managers, Supplier Program Managers, Industry Professionals, Retailers and GLOBALG.A.P. G.A.P. Auditors who would like to gain additional and updated knowledge of the GLOBALG.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance Standard. The course will give an overview of the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA v6 GFS Plants standard including certification procedure, structure of the standard, requirements, and general regulations. Some emphasis will be given to various resources available to GLOBALG.A.P. Producers that can help facilitate implementation and ease the efforts towards compliance.

About the Instructor: Astrid holds a master’s degree in Agricultural Science from University of Copenhagen, Denmark and has over 25 years of experience working in the US fresh produce industry and other US farm industries. Astrid started her career as an independent pest management consultant for perennial fresh produce growers, with a focus on soft IPM programs and Organic programs. For the last  15 years, Astrid has worked as an agricultural production compliance specialist, auditor trainer and public trainer for several Certification Bodies. Astrid now works full time at CCOF as Senior Food Safety Certification Specialist. A core objective for much of Astrid’s career has been to help develop and implement programs that assist producers in implementing sustainable, safe and socially responsible farming practices that in turn will help the producers—small as well as large—gain better access to markets.
