You’ll gain tips on how to improve produce safety on your farm and how to work toward compliance with the FSMA Produce Safety Rule as your business grows.
- Part 1: February 8, 2022—10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time:
We’ll start off the series by highlighting the need for improved food safety in the fresh produce market. Then, we’ll overview the FSMA Produce Safety Rule and review what documents small farms need to maintain to demonstrate exemption from the rule. We will also walk through how to determine if your farm is considered a processor or a “farm-mixed-type facility” under the FSMA regulations. Finally, we will begin a review of specific topics within the Produce Safety Rule, including soil amendments, worker health and hygiene, wildlife, and domestic animals.
- Part 2: February 15, 2022—10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time:
In the second webinar, we’ll finish our review of specific topics within the FSMA Produce Safety Rule. We’ll discuss agricultural water quality and usage, postharvest handling, and how to develop a food safety plan.
Both webinars are included in the registration. If you can attend one date but can’t attend the other, that’s okay. A recording of each webinar will be sent out to all webinar registrants, along with a PDF of the PowerPoint slides.
