Since the 2018 Farm Bill made industrial hemp legal, there has been a lot of excitement about the growing hemp marketplace. Hemp is an incredibly sustainable crop that builds soil, requires little to no pesticides, and only requires about a third of the water that is used to grow corn. The right varieties of hemp can even offer producers two harvests from one crop—the seed can be processed for oil, and the fiber can be used for textiles and manufacturing. Hemp has the potential to provide a lot of opportunities for growers, processors, the economy, and the environment.

April Crittenden began her career with CCOF over 10 years ago. In her various roles, Crittenden gained an understanding of the organic regulations for growers, handlers, and livestock producers; helped implement improved client communication systems; and oversaw complaints, investigations, and CCOF’s pesticide residue and GMO sampling programs. As the chief certification officer at CCOF, Crittenden has a wealth of knowledge about the National Organic Program and environmental stewardship in farming systems.

Christopher Boucher is widely recognized as one the preeminent figures in the American Industrial Hemp movement. He co-authored Hemp CBD is Legal in All 50 States, kick-starting the U.S. Hemp CBD industry. Boucher is currently CEO of Farmtiva Inc. Farmtiva is a hemp seed breeding and hemp flower company in San Diego, California. He travels the country speaking and consulting on behalf of agricultural hemp and the new American hemp industry.
Jerry Norton is currently CEO of American Hemp Seed Genetics. He also participates on the Oregon Industrial Hemp Advisory Rules Committee; is Co-Founder OIHFA (Oregon Industrial Hemp Farmers Assoc.); and has also founded Global Hemp Extraction, New World CBD and CBD Honey Stix.
