The CCOF Foundation launched a new cohort of Organic Transition grantees in 2022 with the help of our thoughtful partners. With your support, we were able to fund 12 farmers in the Salinas Valley as they expanded organic acreage on their farms. In addition to providing our grantees with funds, the CCOF Foundation was able to hire a bilingual organic technical specialist to provide technical assistance to the grantees. As of January 2023, we’ve received a second round of grant applications and are looking forward to inviting an additional eight farmers into the organic transition cohort. Our Organic Transition program provide the most long-term financial support of any of our programs, with grantees guaranteed three consecutive years of funding. This allows our Foundation to invest in the longevity of these small businesses while simultaneously improving our own ability to provide technical assistance and serve as thought partners to organic farmers for generations to come.
When offering a three-year commitment to grantees, we rely on long-term commitments from funders. The CCOF Foundation has already received three-year commitments from Daily Harvest, American Farmland Trust, and the Globetrotter Foundation’s #NoRegrets Initiative. We’ve also received renewed support from Wells Fargo and Bank of the West.
The CCOF Foundation is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Lisa & Douglas Goldman Fund as an Investor-level supporter of this program for 2023.
