Review our FAQ on cleaners and sanitizers and the EPA list and search for materials on MyCCOF Materials Search. If you find the material you would like to use, be sure to follow any restrictions noted in Materials Search as well as label use instructions. If you do not see the material you want to use in MyCCOF Materials Search, send a label listing the ingredients to inbox@ccof.org and we will review the material for you.

To ensure the safety of our food supply, until the end of May 2020, you do not need to wait for CCOF approval of a new equipment sanitizer material prior to use. If you are switching to a quaternary ammonium-based sanitizer or any other sanitizer that leaves a persistent residue, remove sanitizer residue by thoroughly rinsing equipment with fresh water prior to running organic products. You also need to conduct a residue test to show that your rinse has removed sanitizer residue. The test should show 0ppm residue. Be sure to let us know what material you are using via Materials Search or by emailing inbox@ccof.org

If you have questions or concerns about the restrictions for use of your new sanitizer, contact your CSS or inbox@ccof.org.
