EU Organic Regulations and Logo Use

Global Market Access Application

Enrollment in the CCOF GMA program means that CCOF will review your operation for compliance with equivalence arrangements between the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) or Canadian Organic Regime (COR) and various foreign governmental bodies. NOP certified operations can be reviewed to equivalencies with Canada, the EU, Japan, Korea, and Switzerland, and COR certified operations can be reviewed to equivalencies with the US and Japan.

Global Market Access Program Manual

This manual describes the requirements for operations enrolled in the Global Market Access program. This is typically only necessary if your products are exported to foreign markets where the U.S. National Organic Program has equivalence arrangements, including Canada, the European Union, Japan and more.

GMA Wine Approval Application

If your operation is producing wine that may be exported to the EU or Switzerland, or exporting wine to the EU or Switzerland, you will need to complete the GMA Wine Approval Application. CCOF will verify that your wines meet EU and/or Switzerland production requirements as part of your enrollment in the GMA program.

Guidance for Determining COR Compliance for Handlers

This document is provided to CCOF clients and staff to provide guidance for determining whether processing/ handling practices comply with the requirements for compliance certification to the COR standards. These standards apply ONLY to operations producing organic food products in Canada.

International Market Labeling Guide

CCOF has developed this helpful guide to explain the requirements for labels on organic products sold in Canada, the EU, Japan, Korea, and Mexico. All products being shipped to these markets under a U.S. Organic Equivalency Arrangement must meet the labeling requirements of the destination market. Please submit all labels to CCOF for approval prior to printing.

International Standard Program Manual

This manual describes the CCOF International Standard program and standards. The program is for operations outside the US shipping to the European Union or Switzerland directly. To apply for this program please complete the International Standard Program Application for Grower or Handler.
