Farming Fundamentals Part 1: Land and Water

Gaining access to land is a journey. It’s also one of the most important and challenging steps to becoming a successful farmer or rancher. This workshop is for people who have some farming/ranching experience and are looking for land with quality water. It will give you access to the tools, resources, skills and network for finding, assessing, and considering a farmable piece of land in San Diego for your farm and ranch business.
 
National Young Farmers Coalition (NYFC) and California FarmLink are hosting a two-day session in partnership with San Diego organizations to help you:
  • Gain resources for identifying available farmland and assessing whether it’s right for you
  • Evaluate water sources meet the needs for your farm operation
  • Navigate land and water policies and parameters that affect your farm
  • Set personal and business goals for your farm business

A social hour will follow coursework on December 13th to relax and get to know each other
