We are looking for organic growers who are interested in hosting informal (but well-documented!) trial projects applying biochar as a soil amendment. High quality biochar improves soil fertility, supports beneficial microbe populations, reduces fertilizer and water requirements and sequesters carbon for centuries. We want to run trials in annual, perennial, fruit, and container + transplant production systems. All biochars in these pilots are CDFA OIM approved; some are also OMRI listed. Looking for people to work primarily in the greenhouse. That consists of production work like seeding and transplanting as well as helping to get plants ready for deliveries. There is a chance that driving a delivery truck or working a farmer’s market would be part of the job as well. 30-35 hours a week. The season starts in February and goes at least to July with some people staying on until November depending on the amount of work at that time of year. Pay is $16/hr and a .50 cent bonus for every hour worked at the end of the season if you stay till the end.
