Ignacio Mendoza CCOF1 (1)

Growing organic agriculture relies on supporting the next generation of organic farmers, and this is your opportunity to learn more about what a future organic farmer’s journey looks like. You’ll be able to meet Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund recipient Ignacio Mendoza when he speaks at the CCOF Foundation Feast at the Organic Grower Summit on December 4.

Not only is Mendoza the first of his family to attend college, he’s also the first of his family to graduate from high school. A CCOF-certified member, Mendoza grew up helping his father grow organic strawberries on the central coast of California. Now, he’s studying plant science and acting as the president of the Plant Science Club at California State University, Fresno.

Mendoza has become an outstanding young leader and is planning to convert his family’s split operation to 100 percent certified organic farmland. Mendoza is passionate about organic farming, and is becoming an outspoken advocate for policies that support organic farmers. We can’t wait to hear his story in his own words at the CCOF Foundation Feast at the Organic Grower Summit.

The CCOF Foundation is proud to support youth like Mendoza who have dedicated their lives and livelihoods to organic farming.

Tickets for the CCOF Foundation Feast, which will be an inspiring kickoff to the Organic Grower Summit, are available here. Join the CCOF Foundation for an unforgettable evening!
