Sambrailo Packaging Partners with CCOF to Benefit the Future Organic Farmer Grant

As a gesture of solidarity, Sambrailo Packaging will donate a portion of sales from their recently-launched Go Greener!™ clamshells to CCOF in support of the Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund. This fund aids kindergarten through eighth grade, high school, and vocational and higher education students in their journey to become organic farmers. You can find the Go Greener!™ clamshells in the CCOF web store, and donations will be calculated from sales through the store between November 3, and December 31, 2014.

Go Greener!™ clamshells are made with 100% post-consumer recycled PET from clear and green beverage bottles and the green translucent color will capture the attention of organic consumers on the retail shelf. In the past, there has not been a reuse for these green plastic beverage bottles in the U.S. The materials would otherwise go into landfills or be shipped overseas for use in other hard plastic goods.

“More than 33 million pounds of green plastic could be reused in one year,” states Sara Mailhot, Product Development Manager for Sambrailo Packaging. “This statistic is hypothetically based on all CCOF-certified organic strawberry growers in the U.S. and Mexico using the Go Greener! 1 lb. clamshells for one year, so the real potential could far exceed this number as sales grow and the product line increases.”

To place an order of the Go Greener!™ clamshells today and to help support CCOF’s mission to grow the next generation of organic farmers, go to CCOF's store.
