Shannon Good’s future career goals directly relate to organic agriculture, as she plans to become a business partner in her family’s organic dairy farm, Med-O-Bloom Farms, L.L.C., after she obtains her degree from Michigan State University. There are a few specific objectives Good would like to incorporate into her farm: improvements in genetics and breeding, educating the public about the benefits of organic dairy farming, and ultimately farm processing of her farm’s organic milk.

Good’s academic studies at Michigan State University will focus on animal science, which will give her the foundation she needs for a career in organic dairy farming. The education and training she will receive at Michigan State University will be fundamental in helping her attain career goals. She is excited and passionate about organic agriculture and feels that it is the best option not only for her cows, but for humans and the environment.

Good received three grants in the past through the Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund as a National FFA Organization student. The CCOF Foundation is honored to support her as she begins her college education at Michigan State University.

Congratulations Shannon!
