Join A.G. Kawamura at the Organic Hotspots Conference

Sacramento, February 22-23

Join A.G. Kawamura and CCOF at our Organic Hotspots Conference on February 22-23, 2018, in Sacramento, California. This event is open to the public and registration information can be found at www.ccof.org/2018-event.

Kawamura is a third generation produce grower and shipper and co-owner of CCOF-certified Orange County Produce, LLC. From 2003 to 2010, Kawamura served as the secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. He is the founding chairman of Solutions for Urban Agriculture (SFUA). For over 30 years, Kawamura has pursued a lifelong goal to work toward an end to hunger and malnutrition. He has worked closely with Second Harvest and Orange County Food Banks to create exciting urban ag projects that address nutrition and hunger. As a progressive farmer, Kawamura has a lifetime of experience farming within the shrinking rural and urban boundaries of southern California.  The SFUA partners are engaged in building an interactive, 21st century, 70-acre agricultural showcase at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California.

Kawamura will join other agricultural luminaries in speaking at the event, such as Jamie Johansson, President of the California Farm Bureau Federation and Mathew Raiford, CheFarmer and Owner of The Farmer & the Larder. Take a look at the full agenda and lineup of speakers.

On the eve of the conference, CCOF will honor its annual Organic Champion Award recipient Melody Meyer, Vice President of Policy and Industry Relations at United Natural Foods at its second annual CCOF Foundation Awards Feast.
