Grimmway & Cal Organic CEO Jeff Huckaby Appointed to California Agriculture Advisory Board

California Governor Jerry Brown appointed Jeff Huckaby, president and CEO of Grimmway and Cal-Organic, to the California State Board of Food and Agriculture
The 15-member board advises the California governor and secretary of agriculture on key issues of importance to California’s farmers, ranchers, stakeholders, and citizens. The members represent a broad range of agricultural commodities, a variety of geographic regions, and both California university systems.
Cal-Organic became a CCOF member in 1995 and today manages over 45,000 certified organic acres. Huckaby originally joined Grimmway as a Cal-Organic manager and was promoted to president and CEO in 2016. Cal-Organic is a Champion Member of the CCOF Foundation, helping CCOF advance organic agriculture for a healthy world.
The California State Board of Food and Agriculture will hold their next meeting on May 1, 2018. The location and agenda of the meeting are to be announced and will be available online
Huckaby joins CCOF members Bryce Lundberg of Lundberg Family Farms and Nancy Casady of the Ocean Beach People’s Organic Food Market on the board. An agricultural representative position on the board is currently vacant. Individuals interested in the position can apply online through the California Governor’s appointment process.
