On December 4, 2020, CCOF published a notification of a statewide quarantine and stop use notice issued by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for the product AGRO GOLD WS.

The product AGRO GOLD WS has been found to contain both Diquat and Glyphosate, both of which are prohibited substances under the USDA organic regulation 7 CFR §205.105: Allowed and prohibited substances, methods, and ingredients in organic production and handling. See our December 4  notification for details.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) have subsequently issued stop use notices for AGRO GOLD WS.

In addition, the manufacturer of AGRO GOLD WS, Agro Research International (ARI), did not renew an organic material registration with WSDA. Their registration has expired, and therefore products from ARI previously listed by WSDA are no longer approved for use in organic agriculture by WSDA’s Organic Program.

At this time, CCOF is not aware of any crop input material products from ARI that are approved for use in organic production.
