The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) have proposed a pest-management plan where compulsory pesticide spraying would take place to eradicate known pests. As reported by the Associated Press, this plan says that, “compulsory state pesticide spraying of organic crops would do no economic harm to organic producers, on the grounds that the growers could sell sprayed crops as non-organic instead.”
CCOF stands with organic farmers and desires a long-term approach that utilizes non-toxic controls and advanced organic methods to establish strong habitats and crops against pests.
