Genetic Engineering Policy Alliance
A network of organizations and individuals promoting precautionary policies on genetically engineered food and agriculture. The Alliance includes representation from agriculture, consumer, health, faith, labor, environmental, social justice and business sectors. They are united in the concern about the impacts of genetically engineered crops and foods on agriculture, the public, and the environment. CCOF and several CCOF certified organic operations are Alliance members.
The Institute for Responsible Technology
The Institute for Responsible Technology (IRT) is a world leader in educating policy makers and the public about genetically modified (GM) foods and crops. They investigate and report their risks and impact on health, environment, the economy, and agriculture, as well as the problems associated with current research, regulation, corporate practices, and reporting.
Institute of Science in Society
The Institute of Science in Society (ISIS) Mission Statement: To promote science responsibility to civil
society and the public good, independent of commercial and other
special interests, or of government control. Science is intrinsically
honest, open and pluralistic, and disagreements must be openly and

ISB News Report
Published monthly by the Information Systems for Biotechnology (ISB) and
funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), The ISB News Report provides news
on development, testing and regulatory review of genetically modified
plants, animals and microorganisms in the U.S.
The Non-GMO Project
The Non-GMO Project
is a non-profit collaboration of manufacturers, retailers, processors, distributors, farmers, seed companies and consumers sharing the belief that everyone deserves an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified products, and their mission is to ensure the sustained availability of non-GMO choices. Several CCOF clients are involved in the Non-GMO Project, including Guayaki and Lundberg Family Farms.
The
Organic Consumers Association (OCA)
The OCA promotes food safety, organic farming and sustainable agricultural
practices in the U.S. and internationally. The OCA provides consumers
with factual information they can use to make informed food choices.
Genetic engineering, irradiation, toxic sludge fertilizer, mad cow
disease and rBGH are some of the issues addressed.
The Organic & Non-GMO Report
The only monthly newsletter that provides information and resources to respond to the challenges of genetically modified (GM) foods. It helps to stay up-to-date on global GM food issues and more. The Organic & Non-GMO Report also publishes The Non-GMO Sourcebook, an annual directory of suppliers of non-GMO
seed, crops, ingredients, and food products.
Physicians
and Scientists for Responsible Application of Science and Technology
(PSRAST)
A global scientific organization without any political, ideological
or commercial bindings, PSRAST's purpose is to thoroughly assess
the safety of new technologies in an impartial and objective way.
PSRAST is not against any new technology, including genetic engineering,
but is strongly against the application of this technology before
health and environmental safety has been established.

The Soil Association
The Soil Association promotes planet-friendly food and farming through education, campaigns, and community programs. In addition to GM news, the Soil Association has published several GM reports: "Seeds of Doubt - North American Farmers' Experiences of GM Crops", "Silent Invasion - The Hidden Use of GM Crops in Livestock Feed", "GM Crops - The Health Effects", and most recently, "Land of the GM-Free".
