Can I use a new input material?

Each year, CCOF sends each client an OSP Materials List of all specific processing aid and farm/livestock input materials in use by the client. Before using a new processing aid or farm/livestock input material (fertilizer, pest control, livestock medication), you must request approval from CCOF. Use of materials, even OMRI and WSDA listed materials, without prior approval may result in a Notice of Noncompliance. If a material does not appear on your OSP Materials List, do not use it!

You are no longer required to handwrite updates regarding input materials on your paper OSP forms. To request CCOF approval of an OMRI or WSDA listed material, simply write the full name and manufacturer on your OSP Materials List or contact ccof@ccof.org. If appropriate, we will update your OSP Materials List and send it back to you confirming the addition and your approval to use the material. You can also email, fax, or mail CCOF a request to add a material to this list at any time. If a material is not OMRI or WSDA listed, submit a Material Review Request Form (MRRF). We process material update requests as quickly as possible. If you require a fast review, you may consider our Rush Review Program.

To view your OSP Materials List, log into MyCCOF and access the “Inputs” tab where all materials approved by CCOF for your use are listed. The list will be verified at your inspection, updated whenever necessary, and always available in MyCCOF. We are happy to send you a current list at any time!
