We purchased our home/property (4 acres) in 2013. It was an old apple farm from the early 1900’s, and w restored it back to its operation as a farm. We began selling to several high-end restaurants in the Bay Area in 2017 and opened a small weekend-only summer-only farm stand on our farm that same year. We have always operated our farm under organic and regenerative principles, but have not sought organic certification as none of our restaurant customers desired it. All of our restaurant customers have visited our farm many times and appreciate what we do. In December 2019 we purchased 155 acres of old cherry orchard property that is located a few miles from our home. Approximately 5 acres of that land is cultivatable, and has not been cultivated in more than 50 years. It will expand our farm to full-time, and as such, we seek organic certification. We are just now getting the infrastructure in place (wells/fence/irrigation/soil improvements) and expect to be in full operation by summer of 2021.
