Organic Transition Advocacy
CCOF advocates to make organic certification accessible to all farmers and ranchers.
Transitioning from conventional to organic is difficult for many reasons. Farmers must learn new farming methods and requirements; must make significant financial investments; must be able to weather higher operating costs before receiving higher organic prices; and must find organic demand in the marketplace. Underserved food producers face additional barriers that limit their access to the organic market.
In addition to CCOF’s advocacy team working for improvements, the CCOF Foundation offers grants to support farmers transitioning to organic.
